We delve into the overall design strategy and the benefits of using Staged Construction Analysis in Tekla Structural Designer. This section builds on knowledge from previous webinars and focuses on three main areas: the design envelope, wind and seismic drift checking, and reduced second-order effects.
We will then do a summary of key points from the previous webinars, showing how the software allows users to build models as usual with minimal additional steps to incorporate stage construction analysis, leading to more efficient designs, reduced second order effects, and simpler wind and seismic drift checking.
Speakers
Kenny Arnott
Principal Structural Consultant
Kenny worked in UK consultancies for 15 years before moving into software development in 1998, joining Trimble (CSC) as a Product Development Manager. At Trimble, he has focused on developing concrete frame modelling and design software for international markets. This includes creating and managing robust analysis models for the design process. He has compared the requirements of engineers using different design codes and represented the UK in the Eurocode development task group for Eurocode 2's analysis chapter.
Jeremy Knight
Global Helpdesk Manager
Jeremy started his career at Trimble (CSC) in 1998 as a Support Engineer, having completed his Civil Engineering Degree at Leeds University. During his time at Trimble, Jeremy has worked in several roles including those of Training Manager and Support Manager.
He also spent 8 years working in Canada at a partner of CSC, where he learned about North American structural engineering design codes and practice, and more advanced computer analysis topics such as in seismic analysis and design.
William Hulme
Business Development Manager
William started his career with Trimble as a sales engineer in 2023, having completed his engineering degree at
De Montfort University and working as an engineer for one year.
